AMULET Was Founded by Hani Talat & Co-Partnered With Yehia Ossama
Hani Talat started skating in 2007, he knew about skateboarding through a video game Tony Hawk Proving Ground that was released in 2006, he got his first board from a skate shop abroad and didn’t know that there’s skateboarders in Egypt, he eventually got to know local skaters in Cairo and started skating with them and through skating his passion for filming skaters and skateboarding grew in a time that most of the OG skaters then were not skating that much, he decided with a group of skaters to film the first full length skate film in Cairo & worked on a project called Radical [Relaunched nowadays as RAD] and the name of the skate film was “Cairo’s ComeBack” as a metaphor for Cairo skaters getting back on their boards and skating. The project took 3 years to be finished and was premiered in ElSawi Culture Wheel in 2010.
Hani after that pursued a career in Cinematography and Film-making and worked with a big skate shop in Dubai called Dynamics were he was distributing major brands and working with triple A skateboarding companies, he got to know the inside out of the skateboarding industry worldwide from dealing directly with major distributors Like Deluxe/Thrasher/Crailtap/KEEN/Diamond/Magenta/BSS & many other brands like Sector 9/Matix/DVS and many more to hosting international professional skate teams like Magenta Skateboards.
Yehia Ossama started skating in 1998, grew up skating in Cairo. Known for his distinctive style , and always down for a game of skate. He’s a dentist and a painter, an overall aspiring creative .
Yehia had a couple of parts with Cairo’s comeback ( directed and filmed by Hani Talat) at the top of the list , which was a pivotal video in reviving the skate scene in cairo back in 2010.
Yehia has always been and will always be pleased to help and support the skate scene and the skateboarders in anyway possible , and now this support will get to the next level , with Amulet on the map
